Modular Micro-Communicator System

The Sensorcom MC-450D Modular Micro-Communicator System is a unique communication headset, designed specifically for use within high-noise environments and where it is important that the user can hear to the surrounding speech and is aware of the ambient noises near them. Optimised for use with the new generation of DECT telephone systems, the Micro-Communicator is fitted with a dual in-line switch allowing remote access to microphone mute and line seize/release controls. An in-line rotary volume control is available as an option for the MC-450D which is designed make level adjustment more easily than with the buttons on the phone. It is set to reduce the volume to an almost-zero point so that the volume is never reduced to a zero position.

The key design elements of the MC-450D include a totally sealed-to-the-ear transducer combined with its ambiduct feature and an ultra hi-efficiency noise cancelling microphone resulting in crystal clear duplex communications at safe operating sound pressure levels. The ambiduct feature allows a user-selectable level of ambient noise to be injected passively into the ear canal creating a natural balance of both and the surrounding sound and the

transmitted communication providing considerable benefits over traditional noise-excluding closed headset designs.

The microphone and ear-driver assembly weighs just 11g permitting long periods of use without discomfort and allowing considerable freedom of movement.  The MC-450D construction is fully modular comprising three basic elements: Microphone boom; Ear-driver and Ear-mould. These are connected to the phone with a heavy-duty twisted tinsel cable to via in-line control box. The connection to the phone uses a standard 2.5mm, 3-circuit jack plug. The microphone boom is swivel mounted and constructed from a semi-flexible acrylic former which retains its position after the correct profile has been formed. Available in three lengths as the microphone must be positioned midway between the corner and the centre of the mouth, within 10mm of the lips for optimum performance.

The complete MC-450 assembly snap-fits to a custom-made Ear-mould and forming the cable behind the ear provides additional security. This section of the cable incorporates a stainless steel filament moulded into the connector maintain the correct position.

The MC450 can be configured for most makes of DECT, GSM, PCN and wired phones as well as TETRA and PMR systems.

Boom Microphones The boom microphones plug into the earpeice assembly. They are available in three different lengths and it is essential that the microphone is positioned over the mouth in the correct place. It must ne centred between the corner and centre of the mouth at about 10 to 15 mm away.

Custom Ear Mould  The ear mould clips to the Ear Driver assembly via a standard snap-ring-and-nipple attachment. The use of custom earpieces is pivotal to the operation of the Micro-Communicator. It also makes the unit very comfortable to wear, even over long periods of time.

Cable Assembly  The detachable cable assembly is available in a variety of options to interface to phones and PMR systems. It is also available with an built in volume control and many other options are available.

Ear Driver Assembly  The Ear driver assembly is the central part of the Micro-Communicator. It carries the ear driver and all of the electrical and acoustic termination points. This also contains the Ambiduct port allowing for a level of ambient noise to be injected into the ear.
