Musicians In-Ear Products known as IEM or In-Ear Monitoring |
In Ear Monitoring and its Roots....... In-ear monitoring is probably one of the most significant changes in the way performers work on stage since the advent of the microphone and amplified sound systems. As concert venues and equipment became more sophisticated, the monitoring systems for the performers to sing, pitch and time with became equally more elaborate to the extent that they were often in direct conflict with the front of house sound and, of greater concern, at considerably greater stage sound pressure levels. In-Ear Monitoring, courtesy of the pioneering work of Chrys Lindop at Garwood, was quickly recognised by several leading artistes including Stevie Wonder, Cliff Richard and U2 and the principle was slowly but cautiously embraced by others often driven by the enthusiasm of their sound engineers who could produce a greater quality front-of-house without having to fight with the stage monitors. |

Micro Monitors Micro Monitors are the most elegant and professional of all of the In-Ear monitoring systems available. They are manufactured from a highly polished acrylic material using Sony drivers and are connected to the IEM receiver via a tinsel cable terminated with a gold-plated 3.5mm jack. The Micro-Monitors incorperate a variable LF vent which can be adjusted to compensate for the variations of inner-ear volumes which allows the performer to balance the low frequency responce. We recommend that these are custom fitted for optimum performance. |

Pico Monitors These are miniature in-ear-canal monitors available as a generic fit with soft-silicon ear tips, or a custom fit which virtually dissapear in to the ear canal. They provide an accurate and clear response as well as excluding up to 20dB of ambient noise. The connection cable is a very thin translucent polythene and it permanenetly atached to the Pico Monitor, terminating via a "Y" junction to a 3.5mm jack plug. |
